JVP’s Promises Are Not Genuine – Tamil Gains Came Only Through Diaspora Pressure
தமிழர்கள் ஜேவிபி தலைவர் அனுரா குமார திசாநாயக்க வெளியிட்ட நிலப்பகுதிகளை விடுவிப்பது மற்றும் இராணுவத்தை வடகிழக்கிலிருந்து வாபஸ் பெறுவது போன்ற அறிக்கைகளை நம்பக்கூடாது. இவை நீதியின் அடிப்படையில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட தீர்மானங்கள் அல்ல. இவை அனைத்தும் பன்னாட்டு அரசுகளின் அழுத்தத்தால் கட்டாயமாக செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டவை, அந்த அழுத்தங்களை உருவாக்கியது தமிழ் புலம்பெயர் சமுதாயம்.
அனுரா தானாகவே செயல் படவில்லை. அவருக்குத் தெரியும்: கொட்டாபய ராஜபக்ஷா தமிழ் நிலங்களை விடுவிக்கத் தோல்வியடைந்தார். இதனால்தான் “அரகலயா” என்னும் பெரும் மக்கள் கிளர்ச்சி நிகழ்ந்தது. ஆனால் உண்மை என்னவென்றால், அரகலயா கிளர்ச்சியையும் மேம்படுத்தியதும், அதை மேற்கத்திய நாடுகள் ஆதரித்ததும், தமிழ் புலம்பெயர் சமூகத்தால் உருவான துருவப் பாய்ச்சலின் விளைவாகவே.
இன்று அனுரா நடக்கும் போக்கு, அவர் நீதியை நம்பும் என்பதாலல்ல – அவர் பயப்படுகிறார். ‘அரகலயா’ போன்று ஒரு கிளர்ச்சி மீண்டும் தமிழர் பக்கம் இருந்து வந்தால், அவரது ஆட்சியும் நிலைநாட்ட முடியாது என்பதே அவரின் பயம்.
தமிழர்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும்:
தமிழ் புலம்பெயர் சமூகங்கள் மிகப்பெரிய பண பலத்தையும், அதைவிட அதிகமான அரசியல் அதிகாரத்தையும் பெற்றுள்ளன.
கனடா இதற்கான சிறந்த எடுத்துக்காட்டு:
- தமிழ் இனப்படுகொலைக்கு நீதிமன்றம் மூலம் ஒப்புதல் வழங்கிய முதலாவது நாடு.
- தமிழ் நீதிமன்ற அமைச்சர் (Justice Minister) கனடாவில் இருப்பது ஒரு வரலாற்றுச் சாதனை.
- தமிழ் இனப்படுகொலை நினைவேந்தல் நினைவுச்சின்னம் கனடாவில் அமைந்துள்ளது – இது உலக அளவில் தமிழர் வரலாற்றில் மிகப்பெரிய அடையாளமாகும்.
இவை அனைத்தும் தமிழர்கள் நடத்திய அரசியல் உழைப்பின், பயனாகத்தான் வந்துள்ளன. இவற்றை நினைவில் கொள்ளாமல், JVP/NPP போன்ற சிங்கள அமைப்புகளுக்குப் பின்னால் நிற்பது, பன்னாட்டு சமுதாயத்திற்கு தவறான செய்தியை அனுப்பும். அது, தமிழர்களுக்குத் தாங்கள் இனி எந்த பன்னாட்டு ஆதரவும் தேவைப்படாது என்று காட்டும் – அதுவே தொடர்ந்த ஒடுக்குமுறையையும், இராணுவ ஆக்கிரமிப்பையும் ஏற்படுத்தும்.
இது சாதாரண தேர்தல் அல்ல. இது தமிழரின் ஞாபக சக்திக்கும், அரசியல் புலனுக்கும் ஒரு சோதனை. நாம் தவற கூடாது.

Tamils must not be misled by the recent announcements from JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake regarding land releases and military withdrawal from the Tamil homeland. These are not acts of goodwill. They are not based on any deep commitment to justice. They are the result of international pressure—applied by the strength and persistence of the global Tamil diaspora.
Anura is fully aware that Gotabaya Rajapaksa failed to return occupied Tamil lands or remove the Sri Lankan military from Tamil areas. That failure directly led to the Aragalaya uprising, which Western governments backed and amplified—not out of principle, but because of the intense lobbying and influence of the Tamil diaspora.
Let every Tamil realize this: the Tamil diaspora is not just financially powerful—it is politically powerful. We are not just a community of exiles or refugees. We are policy-makers, elected officials, and political influencers in major Western democracies. Our strength is not just in numbers—it’s in action.
Take Canada as a clear example:
- Canada has recognized the Tamil Genocide, including through rulings in its Supreme Court.
- A Tamil Canadian serves as Minister of Justice—a historic milestone for Tamils worldwide.
- Canada is also home to a national Tamil Genocide Memorial, a symbol of global recognition and accountability.
These are not small victories. They are the result of years of strategic, persistent, and courageous political work by the diaspora. And they should not be erased or wasted by voting for Sinhala nationalist fronts disguised in leftist clothing.
If Tamils vote for JVP/NPP, the international community may wrongly assume Tamils are satisfied, no longer in need of global support. That will only lead to continued oppression, land seizure, military occupation, and cultural destruction.
This is not just another election. It is a test of Tamil memory and Tamil political maturity. Let us not fail it.
