This is a history-making moment, and Canada has shown the world what dignity, remembrance, and moral leadership look like.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Tamil Canadians, Canadian citizens, and local leaders who made this possible — and to the Progressive Conservatives (PCs) of Ontario for officially recognizing May 18 as Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day.
This landmark event marks more than a monument. It is a message — that Tamil Canadians are in the right place, working with the right political leadership. At a time when truth has long been buried under impunity and silence, Canada has stepped forward with moral clarity and political courage.
We, the Tamils of Eelam and the Tamil American community, deeply admire this firm stand. As the genocide of our people remains unpunished and denied by Sri Lanka, we now turn to Canadian Tamils and Canadian institutions. We urge them to accelerate efforts to pursue legal accountability for war crimes and genocide under Canadian and international law. Justice delayed is justice denied — and Tamil families cannot wait any longer.
The Brampton memorial is not merely a site of mourning; it is a beacon of justice. Let it ignite the global legal and moral campaign to hold the perpetrators of the Mullivaikkal genocide accountable. Only then can every Tamil return home with dignity and live in peace.
