Our Beloved Friend P. Chandranathan Has Passed Away
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved friend, P. Chandranathan, on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
P. Chandranathan was a respected and dedicated member of the Tamil community. He served as President of Ilankai Tamil Sangam in 2002 and 2003 and remained a devoted Tamil patriot who cared deeply about the Tamil people, their community, culture, and homeland.
He was also deeply committed to the education of Tamil children and the preservation of the Tamil language. He helped organize and support Tamil school programs so that younger generations could learn Tamil and remain connected to their language, culture, and heritage. His contribution to educating Tamil children will remain an important part of his legacy.
His passing is a tremendous loss to his family, friends, the Tamil community, and everyone who knew and worked with him. We will deeply miss him. His absence leaves a void that will be difficult to fill.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this painful time.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later, once all arrangements have been finalized.
May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory and service to the Tamil community live on through the generations he helped inspire.

எமது அன்பிற்குரிய நண்பர் ப. சந்திரநாதன் அவர்கள் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை, செப்டம்பர் 27, 2026 அன்று காலமானார் என்பதை மிகுந்த துயரத்துடன் அறியத் தருகின்றோம்.
ப. சந்திரநாதன் அவர்கள் தமிழ் சமூகத்தின் மதிப்பிற்குரியவராகவும், அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் சமூகப் பணியாற்றியவராகவும் விளங்கினார். அவர் 2002 மற்றும் 2003 ஆம் ஆண்டுகளில் இலங்கைத் தமிழ்ச் சங்கத்தின் தலைவராக பணியாற்றினார். தமிழ் மக்களின் நலன், தமிழ்ச் சமூகம், தமிழ் மொழி, பண்பாடு மற்றும் தாயகம் ஆகியவற்றின் மீது ஆழ்ந்த பற்றுக் கொண்ட ஒரு தமிழ்த் தேசப்பற்றாளராக அவர் வாழ்ந்தார்.
குறிப்பாக, தமிழ்க் குழந்தைகள் தமிழ் மொழியைக் கற்று, தமது மொழி, பண்பாடு மற்றும் பாரம்பரியத்துடன் தொடர்ந்து இணைந்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதில் அவர் மிகுந்த அக்கறை கொண்டிருந்தார். அதற்காக தமிழ்ப் பள்ளிகளை ஏற்பாடு செய்து, அவற்றின் வளர்ச்சிக்கும் செயல்பாட்டிற்கும் உறுதுணையாக இருந்து, இளைய தலைமுறையினர் தமிழ் கற்க வழிவகுத்தார். தமிழ்க் குழந்தைகளின் கல்விக்கும் தமிழ் மொழியின் தொடர்ச்சிக்கும் அவர் ஆற்றிய பணி அவரது முக்கியமான மரபுகளில் ஒன்றாக என்றும் நினைவுகூரப்படும்.
அவரது மறைவு அவரது குடும்பத்தினர், நண்பர்கள், தமிழ்ச் சமூகம் மற்றும் அவருடன் இணைந்து பணியாற்றிய அனைவருக்கும் ஈடுசெய்ய முடியாத பேரிழப்பாகும். அவரை நாம் என்றும் ஆழ்ந்த துயரத்துடன் நினைவுகூர்வோம். அவரது இழப்பு எளிதில் நிரப்ப முடியாத ஒரு பெரும் வெற்றிடத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
இந்தத் துயரமான நேரத்தில் அவரது குடும்பத்தினருக்கும் அன்புக்குரியவர்களுக்கும் எமது ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கல்களைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம்.
இறுதிக் கிரியைகள் தொடர்பான அனைத்து ஏற்பாடுகளும் முடிவடைந்த பின்னர், அதன் விவரங்கள் அனைவருக்கும் அறிவிக்கப்படும்.
அன்னாரின் ஆத்மா சாந்தியடையட்டும். அவர் தமிழ் சமூகத்திற்குச் செய்த சேவைகளும், அவர் விட்டுச் சென்ற நினைவுகளும், அவர் ஊக்குவித்த தலைமுறைகளின் வழியாக என்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கட்டும்.
