Tamils have the fundamental right to remove illegal Buddhist viharas built in their homeland without their consent by the Sinhalese military and extremist monks. The construction of the Thaiddi Viharai and other similar structures is an act of aggression meant to erase Tamil heritage and impose Buddhist hegemony on Tamil lands.
Building Sinhala-Buddhist temples in Tamil areas during an ongoing struggle for Tamil sovereignty is nothing short of cultural genocide. These structures are not places of worship but tools of military-backed colonization, intended to intimidate and subjugate the Tamil people.
The Sri Lankan military and radical Buddhist clergy have forcefully occupied Tamil lands, illegally erecting viharas through military coercion. This systematic effort, backed by state-sponsored racism, violates international human rights and legal principles.
Tamil heritage and history are under attack by militant Buddhist extremists—often alcoholic, criminal monks wearing red robes and spreading falsified history. They propagate the Mahavamsa, a fictional Sinhalese chronicle, created to falsely justify Sinhalese dominance. Mahavamsa is not a historical document but a fabricated mythology used to rewrite history and intimidate the majority Hindus of that time. The Sinhalese establishment has long weaponized this false narrative to suppress Tamil identity and heritage.
If these illegal structures are not removed amicably, future technological advancements such as drones and other technical devices will make it easy to demolish them and remove the intruders from Tamil land. This should be clearly understood by Sinhalese elites, the government, the military, the monks, and regular Sinhalese citizens.
If Tamils take justice into their own hands, it will not be a crime but a justified response to decades of ignored oppression and violations. The Tamil people’s loud voice for justice has been silenced for too long. If the world refuses to listen, Tamils have the right to reclaim their land by any means necessary.
