The Director of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital has put out a request to wealthy people and donors to come forward to make the hospital available with surgical equipment for Thyroid patients, which are urgently needed to treat the patients.
He put out this call in the press conference held at the Teaching hospital.
Elaborating further, he said, 2 Thyroid surgeries were successfully undertaken at the teaching hospital.All these days Thyroid lumps were remove from under the throat. Now it is being done through the mouth. In this method only lumps around 1 cm. Bigger lumps cannot be removed. Our ENT unit is operating well. But we are in need of equipment worth millions are needed here. Wealthy people and donors should come forward to stretch their benevolent hands towards us.
